Breakfast and Berth informed us about Krakow history

Det blev en riktigt bra frukost. Berth läste Krakows historia innan WW2. Krakow har ett händelserikt liv ända sen före Kristus

 

We walked over the big square and through the park

Över stora torget genom lilla parken

 

Big different between the houses, Those who were painted and those not

Det var stor variation på hur husen sköttes. Färg gör stor skillnad.

 

We walked up to the castle but did not enter

Vi gick upp på kullen med slott och kyrka, men vi gick inte in

 

And then we walked along Wisla river

Så följde vi Wisla till det var dax att gå över bron.

 

We walked into the Bednarskiego garden, but there wasn´t all the flowers as  you could read in the tourist book

På andra sidan gick vi in i en park som skulle vara full av blommor, Bednarskiego, men de hade nog blommat över.

Så gick vi upp på kullen

 

We walked by the old quarry down to the jewish cemetary that became the jewish ghetto

Vi gick förbi stenbrottet och ner till de gamla judiska kyrkogårdarna som nazisterna gjorde om till Palszow getto

Płaszów är en stadsdel i sydöstra delen av Kraków i Polen, där nazisterna i december 1941 uppförde ett beryktat koncentrationsläger. Kommendant var Amon Göth. Livet och döden i Płaszów skildras i filmen Schindler’s List från 1993.

There was nothing left from the ghetto but you can se a plan over the area

Gettot var byggt för 2000 men rymde som mest 20000 när det fyllts på med judar från bl a Ungern.

Amon Göth bodde i det grå huset och hade som nöje att bara skjuta “random” när de befann sig i hans blickfång. Han skickade alla barnen till auszwich där de gasades ihjäl vid ankomsten.

 

tired we ate lunch at an italian restaurant

Det var verkligen gott med Lunch. Vi var trötta i kropparna efter 15000 steg.

 

Schindlers fabric was closed so we walked back to the city

Vi gick vidare till Schindlers emaljfabrik, men just idag var den stängd för underhåll. Besvikna gick vi tillbaka över floden och in i de judiska kvarteren.

 

The plac Bohaterow getta with 74 chairs represented the jewish families furnitures

Vi kollade på synagogan från utsidan med glass i hand. Så började letandet efter chokladfabriken. Och efter att inte finna den på två nämnda adresser gav vi upp

 

The choclate fabric was nowhere, we were disappointed so we had a cup of coffee at espresso house

Kaffe från espressohouse fick trösta lite.

 

We bought some sandwishes at subway fot our pic-nic tomorrow and walked home

Vi tänkte kolla i Mariakyrkan men den hade precis stängt. Så vi köpte subway-mackor till utflykten dagen efter och fick hem.

 

After resting half an hour we walked to a restaurant for dinner

När vi vilat en halvtimma gick vi till en restaurang, Atrium, strax utanför Old city och mättade magarna. Sen gick vi omväg hem. Stegräknaren stannade på mellan 28000-30000 steg
